Philips Hue Motion Sensor with Fibaro Rutger's Blog

I recently got my HC3 and I've been experimenting with some of the QuickApps including the Philips Hue quick app to control my Hue Lights. From now on your smart home knows when to get ready for your return! Intuitive dashboard of the mobile app is designed to make everything manageable, automate the smart home efficiently, right after you turn on the app. You know what's going on in the entire house at a glance.

For a workaround I've created a binary switch and set a variable with this one. A scene then uses this variable as trigger to switch on/off the Hue. For my purpose on/off is enough and the variable is used for other things too, but you should be able to switch the Hue directly in the QuickApp LUA.

Creating a Virtual Device (Fibaro)

If you left the light on and you are already away, turn it off with one simple tap via the mobile app. So after some searching on the web, I found several solutions to control other systems trough Fibaro but with a combination of Virtual Devices and Scenes. And that was way to complicated to create an Virtual Device and a scene for my devices.

Otherwise I'll assist you by creating a step-by-step Guide in order to create a Virtual Device that can Control your Philips Hue light. Then I created a QuickApp, this goes in the web interface and also appears in the iOS app, but cannot be switched. You're ready, now you can just trigger the created HC scene manually or run it from another HC Scene using the 'Run Scene' Block. Replace XXX with the deviceId you got at step 5, replace YYY with the exact name you gave the scene in the Philips Hue App and save the HC Scene.

Creating a Virtual Device in Fibaro (light sensor)

I tried to use this on a Yubii home center, but it does not accept Virtiual devices, only Quickapps....

Brand new smart home app packed with smart home management features. The Philips Hue also had a motion Sensor and I actually wanted to use this one in Fibaro also... So I noticed that sometimes the light didn't go on because the light was out of range. So, besides my Fibaro(Z-Wave) and RFXtrx433 system , we have another standard..... And I would like to be able to control all of this in 1 app , and this gave me some frustration, but I managed to get it working. I surely need only z-wave as a device protocol, but I need a lot more to interface with (FreePBX, Hue, Soma Smart Shades, etc…).

And maybe wait for the next App release for more QuickApp support. I don’t know how integrated this Hue QuickApp works in the mobile app at this moment. An extra scene is always an workaround to turn on and off Hue lights.

Tried the obvious trick of changing .vfib to .fqa, didn't work... Also, my Hue hub v2 does not need a user name or password. Now you will be able to use the action of Hue Virtual Devices that you created in block scenes. Wait 60 seconds for lights to be added. Turn on the 'Movie night' automation scene and make the blinds close, the lights dim and the TV and speakers play your favourite movie just as you like it. Yubii App allows not only to close windows remotely and turn off electrical devices but also to arm or disarm the alarm system.

Looks that the value do incorporate also the group information to which is applied. In spite of deviceID value which I correctly set to group 1. If you access the HueSceneRunner's GUI you can 'browse' detected scenes, also you can instruct the QuickApp to check for newly added Hue Scenes. Control the RGBW strip with voice commands spoken to your iPhone and change your home in no time.

When using such a Hue scene all lights change at once, with the quick app and a HC Scene the lights get controlled one after another. You need to create different virtual devices for each light. Reachable means if the Philips Hue hub can contact the motion sensor 0 means out of range. For me, if you’re not a pro HC2 user you can’t make it. Home Center should find your Philips Hue Bridge. If Home Center couldn’t find your device, check IP address of your device in Philips Hue mobile app and enter it manually.

Yubii App is here

If you want you can use attached icon. It is recommended to call it something like "Hue 'xxx'" where xxx is the name of your Hue Scene. Create a scene in the official Philips Hue App and give it a unique name.

Be sure that the house is always secured. Explore the room preview within new tiles view. The app will save your selection and give you quick access to your favourite rooms. Get to know FIBARO smart devices working with Apple HomeKit.

Use the Spotlight search to manage your favorite scenes and devices even faster. Single login with the use of your ID enables you to use the smart home mobile app and manage all the devices running in the Yubii environment. Connections between the smart home app and the smart home HUB including all the passwords are encrypted. Your privacy and data are sacured when entrusting your home to the FIBARO System. Yubii App automatically switches between local and remote access.

All of this works with curl so I could try to do it, but I hoped for more things out of the box. If you need only zwave, hc3 is the controller to buy. I thought HC3 was a improvement of the 2 but all scripts and apps would works on it... I can switch everything in the web interface but the lamps do not appear in the iOS app. When using saying GUI, I am able to use each light scene properly. Create a new Lua Scene in HC for each hue Scene you want to use.
